Tie Breaker Criteria for AIPGMEE 2014 -

Tie Breaker Criteria FOR AIPGMEE 2014 is different from NOV DNB criteria and NEET-PG 2013

AIPGMEE 2014 : Tie Breaker Criteria

In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the competitive entrance examination, their inter se merit will be determined according to age, older will get preference over younger.

Implication :  They have taken the proverb very seriously this time " As you grow older , you are wiser " .

We expect them to change this  Tie- Breaker Criteria in the main prospectus. But If they are sticking on to this criteria , you need to make a different strategy.

NEET-PG 2013 : Tie Breaker Criteria

In the event of two or more candidates obtaining same percentile, the merit position shall be determined by the number of wrong responses of such candidates. Candidate with less number of wrong responses shall be placed at higher merit.

In case of tie with same percentile rank and same number of wrong
responses, date of birth shall be considered to determine inter-se-merit. An elder candidate shall be placed at a higher merit failing which marks obtained in qualifying exam i.e. MBBS shall be considered.

IMPLICATION : If you leave 10 questions , you have the definite advantage of getting placed in good ranks. This is called Silent Negative marking Scheme . This is widely practiced and most accepted marking scheme. Many toppers of NEET-PG  left 2 - 10 tough questions among 240 questions

Nov DNB 2014 : Tie Breaker Criteria

In the event of two or more candidates obtaining same score, the meritvposition shall be determined using following tie breaker criteria in
descending order:
a. Candidate who has passed all MBBS professional Examinations in Firstvattempt shall be placed at higher merit position.
b. Candidate with higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in all MBBS
professional Examinations shall be placed at higher merit position.
c. Candidate with higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in 3rd MBBS professional Examination (Part I & Part- II) shall be placed at higher merit position.
d. Candidate with higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in 2nd MBBS professional Examination shall be placed at higher merit position.
e. Candidate with higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in 1st MBBS professional Examination shall be placed at higher merit position

Implication : Though it is not a satisfactory tie-breaker scheme , it sounds better than AIPGMEE 2014 scheme
